How to become a Program Advisor

Contact us via email expressing your interest in serving as a Program Advisor and why.
Volunteer weekly with the program for a one (1) year probationary period

Commitment/Qualifications

The individual interested in becoming a Program Advisors should:

- Be Self-Motivated

 

- Be Dedicated

 

- Be Passionate about working with Young People

 

- Have the ability to provide a sustained commitment to program

 

- Have a desire to give back to the community

While not a requirement, experience has taught us that Alumni of the program have demonstrated
the highest success rate in serving as Advisors.


Requirements

The individual will

- Agree to a background check

 

- Attend all of the weekly meetings between September and May

 

- Serve as a mentor to the program participants

 

- Review college applications

 

- Review scholarship applications

  - Review essays and personal statements
  - Meet with the Program Advisors to assist with the development and implementation of Program activities
  - Give input and feedback during the weekly activities
  - Assist with the identification of guest speakers
  - Serve as a chaperone for college tours.
